Blog Page

A Blog Page is a weblog style page. What is a weblog? A weblog (usually shortened to blog) is where users post informal journals of their thoughts, comments, links, etc. They can be updated frequently and normally reflect the views of the blog's creator.

To add a new Blog page go to the 'Manage Site’ section. Select 'Create A Page',  Type in a page Title (This will be the name of the navigation button and the title for the page), Select Blog and then click the create button.

The Edit page for the blog will list all of your blog postings. From here you can edit and delete past blog posts. If you have comments for a blog then they can be edited from this page as well.

From the edit page there are several buttons along the top of the page.

Edit Page Content will add an optional text and image section to the top of the page.

Edit Blog Options allows you to adjust how many posts can be seen per page of your blog as well as choosing whether to allow comments. Check the 'Comment Notification' field to recieve an email when someone leaves a comment on your site. Note: By default, users are allowed to leave comments to your postings. Turn comments off by unchecking 'ALLOW COMMENTS' when the journal page is created or in the 'Edit Page' section of your journal page.

Add Posts is where you add additional posts. Type in the title of the post, select a category if you are organizing your posts and then type in the content and add images if desired. The 'Extended Entry' field is an optional field for those users who would like to start the blog post on the main blog page but finish a large story on a seperate page to save space.

When you click save your post is immediately published to your website. Below the post is the date of the post and a link for site visitors to post comments (if comments are allowed). A ‘Read Full’ link is also shown if you have content in the ‘Extended Content’ field. A 'posted in: category' link will also be shown if you are categorizing your posts.

Edit Categories allows you to create and edit categories to organize your blog posts. When a user visites your site they can choose to see all the posts that you have created in a given category.

View this Page will open the current page in a new window for previewing.

Return to Pages will go back to the organize menu page.
